IT specialists improve careers by working abroad
IT professionals may find that leaving the country to seek employment can improve their careers.
According to research by recruitment consultancy Networkers International, the majority of senior IT staff in the UK have experience of working abroad, reports Silicon.com.
Spencer Manuel, the chief executive officer of Networkers International, stated that there are benefits to working abroad for IT specialists.
"I think this shows that IT pros have nothing to lose and everything to gain by taking the plunge and experiencing work and life overseas," he commented.
According to the survey, the most common age to begin working abroad for the first time is 27, with around three-and-a-half years being the average posting time.
Canada, Australia and the US are the destinations IT staff would most like to work in.
This comes after the prime minister Gordon Brown announced that public sector staff would see their pay frozen this year.
IT specialists may wish to consider working abroad to try and earn a larger salary following the news.
